Dr. Josh Riff

Medical Director

Target

Joshua Riff, medical director of Target, is a board certified emergency medicine physician. He completed his MD/MBA at Tufts University in conjunction with Brandeis University in Boston, Mass. During this time he started the MD/MBA consulting group in which students would work on hospital consulting projects ranging from ideal staffing levels to waiting time analyses. After medical school he completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Johns Hopkins hospital where he was able to study and work under some of the greatest minds in medicine and learn of the plights of an inner city health care system. Upon graduation he moved to Tucson Medical Center where he worked in an ER seeing over 100,000 patients per year. His experience here taught him of the difficulties of access to high quality medical care and of the need for an integrated medical system. In 2006 he started at Target as medical director of clinics where he was responsible for strategy and the medical delivery system of 29 health clinics located in Target stores. More recently he was promoted to medical director of Target where his responsibilities include creating a culture of health and wellness for both Guests and Team members, providing insight to the clinic and pharmacy services, and in business continuity such as our response to novel influenza viruses. When Joshua is not at work or at home he practices emergency medicine at United hospital in St Paul, MN
