Marilyn Batan

Marilyn Batan is a Research Fellow and Public Health Analyst with the Guidelines Development and Recommendations Team in the Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity at the CDC. She has worked on developing Community Guide recommendations and promising practices for the worksite obesity review. Currently, she is translating and disseminating evidence-based promising practices into website products and messages for small and medium-sized businesses to assess, design, and implement effective employee obesity prevention and control programs. Ms. Batan holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a master of public health from Virginia Commonwealth University. Before joining CDC, she worked for Virginia Governors Mark Warner and Tim Kaine as a fellow and special assistant on their 'Healthy Virginians' Initiative.
